Back-end-Forth Rinsing

During rinsing, move your hands and arms through the water in one direction only, from the fingertips toward the elbows. Moving the arms back and forth can bring contaminated water from the forearms back to the hands. This can re-contaminate the cleanest part of the arms and reduce the effectiveness of the surgical scrub. Always keep the water flowing from the clean area to the less clean area.
